New Work 2025
About Mountain and Forest Trolls: Having always had an affinity for northern cultures and their close kinship to the land and animals; I was drawn to the work of Theodore Kittellsen, a Norwegian artist who depicted trolls and other nature spirits and beings.
I am also interested in the work of the Danish sculptor, Thomas Dambo, whose giant, landscape-size trolls inhabit the Maine Coastal Botanic Gardens and are found throughout Europe.
Designing and creating the felted trolls were like melding plant, animal and human. It was like creating in the realm of the metaphysical.

About Prehistoric Beasts: Many species more recently lost than the dinosaurs and more familiar to us, remain curiosities, commanding our imaginations. The Woolly Mammoth , Dodo bird and the Pteranodons remind us that so many life species, including human, can be fragile and perhaps fleeting, and so sharpens our appreciation of both what we have and what we have lost.
